Azerbaijan and Pakistan Discuss Expanding Economic Cooperation

IslamabadNovember 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, in Islamabad on Tuesday to advance bilateral economic cooperation and strengthen strategic ties between the two countries.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Jabbarov is visiting Pakistan at the head of a business delegation, following up on the understanding reached between the leadership of both nations during their meeting in Baku on November 8, 2025. The discussions in Islamabad focused on enhancing economic collaboration and developing new avenues for partnership.

During his visit, the Azerbaijani Minister of Economy also held a meeting with the National Coordinator of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Ahmad. In a post on social media platform X, Jabbarov said he was pleased to meet the SIFC National Coordinator and highlighted the discussions on expanding mutual investments — particularly in the oil and gas sector — as well as promoting joint projects and supporting business-to-business partnerships.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also engaged in delegation-level talks with Minister Jabbarov, during which both sides explored potential Azerbaijani investments in Pakistan’s oil and gas, minerals and mining, meat and livestock, and hospitality sectors. They further agreed to identify additional areas of cooperation and facilitate greater economic engagement.

Senior officials from relevant ministries and departments participated in the meetings, underscoring the commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral economic ties and advancing mutually beneficial projects.
