Rome, November 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: Representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy, the country’s Permanent Mission to the FAO, and the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Rome participated in the UNWG 56th International Festival Charity Bazaar, held at the headquarters of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Organized by the UN Women’s Guild (UNWG), the event featured a vibrant Azerbaijani stand displaying traditional cuisine, national souvenirs, and handcrafted items, offering visitors an insight into the country’s cultural heritage.
FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu and UNWG President Rose Mary Vargas delivered opening remarks, highlighting the escalating global hunger crisis and the critical need for collective efforts to address it. Following the ceremony, Qu Dongyu toured the various national stands, including Azerbaijan’s.
The charity bazaar, which brings together countries from around the world, aims to raise funds to support women and children in need. Participating nations showcased cultural performances and sold traditional products to contribute to the humanitarian cause.
In addition to Azerbaijan, embassies from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Senegal, Thailand, and Peru took part in this year’s event.
All proceeds from the charity bazaar will be directed toward initiatives benefiting vulnerable children worldwide.
