Tehran, December 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: Iran’s ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has underscored the potential for Iran and Russia to establish a joint ecosystem shaping the world’s digital future, citing the two countries’ extensive scientific capabilities and strong records in technological innovation.
In a post on his X account, Jalali described cooperation between Iran and Russia in communications and information technology—pursued through regular joint working group meetings—as a strategic and essential response to today’s evolving security and technological challenges. His remarks come ahead of the fifth meeting of the Iran–Russia Joint Working Group on Communications and Information Technology.
Jalali noted that such cooperation supports the broader technological partnership envisioned by both countries. It also opens new possibilities for expanding the presence of Iranian companies in the Russian market, enabling them to supply equipment and deliver technical and engineering services.
He added that joint efforts can help advance e-commerce, promote urban digitisation and strengthen collaboration in cybersecurity—areas deemed increasingly critical amid rising global digital interdependence.
The ambassador reaffirmed that Iran and Russia remain committed to deepening bilateral engagement in the digital and technological sectors as part of their long-term strategic cooperation.
