Moscow, December 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday reaffirmed that relations between Indonesia and Russia are currently at an excellent stage, following a series of high-level engagements between the two countries in recent months.

The remarks were made during President Prabowo’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, monitored via a live stream on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.

President Prabowo noted that his visit, initially planned merely for consultations, had evolved into an opportunity to convey appreciation for the strengthened bilateral ties.

“My visit was initially meant only for consultations, but now it is really to express my gratitude because the relations between Russia and Indonesia, for us, are now at a very good level,” he stated.

He highlighted that cooperation between Jakarta and Moscow has been developing consistently throughout the year, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Prabowo, Indonesia has received several delegations from Russia, including senior government officials and business leaders, leading to productive discussions across various sectors. He added that Indonesia has been facilitating engagements between national industries and their Russian counterparts.

“I have already arranged and connected several of our industrial sectors and companies, and it appears there have been many positive follow-ups,” President Prabowo said.

During the meeting, he was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

This marks President Prabowo’s second visit to Russia this year. His previous trip was a state visit to St. Petersburg from June 18–20, during which he met President Putin and participated in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025.
