Ashgabat, December 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on December 11, 2025, as the Tajik leader arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the International Forum marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
Welcoming the distinguished guest, President Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to President Rahmon for accepting the invitation to attend the high-level forum, which is aimed at strengthening regional and global peace. He подчеркed the importance of the participation of the Tajik delegation, led by President Rahmon, in the large-scale international event.
President Rahmon, in turn, thanked the Turkmen side for the warm hospitality and expressed confidence that the upcoming forum would contribute to prioritizing joint efforts to promote the principles of peace and trust, while also expanding cooperation in this sphere. He also extended warm congratulations to President Berdimuhamedov on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
Expressing appreciation for the congratulations, President Berdimuhamedov noted that the coincidence of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality significantly enhances the importance of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The two leaders noted that bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan has reached a new level in recent years. Regular high-level negotiations and mutual visits at the presidential and governmental levels have contributed to the steady strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen multifaceted bilateral relations and conveyed their wishes for peace, stability, well-being, and prosperity to the peoples of the two fraternal nations.
