Dubai, December 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan concluded its campaign at the 5th Asian Youth Para Games, held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, with a total of 68 medals, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported.
The national team, comprising 60 athletes competing in nine sports, secured 25 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze medals, placing fifth in the overall team standings. The largest medal haul came from para swimming, where Kazakh athletes collected 34 medals. Other notable achievements included 11 medals in para arm wrestling, seven in para table tennis, six each in para athletics and para powerlifting, as well as a gold in goalball, a silver in boccia, and one silver and one bronze in para taekwondo.
Kairat Seitbekov, head of the Sports Department at the Center for Sports Training for Persons with Disabilities, praised the athletes’ performances, noting that the results reflect strong government support, coordinated efforts of coaches and medical staff, and active parental involvement.
“The Games also played an important role in the development of young athletes by providing them with international competitive experience, classification opportunities, and a foundation for future growth,” Seitbekov added.
The 5th Asian Youth Para Games were held from December 10 to 13, featuring up to 1,300 athletes from 45 Asian nations competing for 481 sets of medals across 11 sports.
