Baku, December 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Presidential Library hosted the presentation ceremony of the book “Revival of Karabakh: The Story of Azerbaijan’s Renaissance,” commissioned by the Karabakh Revival Fund, bringing together officials, academics, cultural figures, and representatives of the media.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Opening remarks were delivered by Parvin Baghirova, Head of the Fundraising and Communications Department of the Karabakh Revival Fund. This was followed by an address from Director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afet Abbasova, who highlighted the scientific, historical, and public significance of the publication. She noted that the book provides a comprehensive account of Karabakh’s rich historical heritage, its struggle for liberation, and the post-conflict reconstruction process, presenting these developments to an international audience.
As part of the program, a video presentation titled “From Tragedy to Victory,” depicting the reconstruction and revival of the liberated territories, was screened for participants.
Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, Rahman Hajiyev, delivered a detailed presentation on the importance of the publication and its preparation process. He emphasized that the book offers an in-depth narrative of Karabakh’s history, liberation, and reconstruction, combining analytical texts, photographs, interviews with officials and experts, and personal accounts of individuals displaced from their native lands.
A dedicated video presentation of the book was also showcased during the event.
The author of the publication, British writer Graeme Wilson, addressed the audience, sharing insights into the concept behind the book, the research undertaken for its preparation, and its overall conceptual framework. The approximately 500-page volume presents the story of Karabakh’s revival in a multidimensional and systematic manner, integrating written content with photographs and interactive digital materials.
Speakers at the event, including Rector of the Baku Music Academy and member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund Farhad Badalbeyli; Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center Ravan Hasanov; Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council Rashad Majid; Adviser to the Director of the Presidential Library, PhD in History Nazim Mustafa; and Deputy Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, PhD in History Ilgar Niftaliyev, underscored the publication’s value as an important and objective source. They noted that the book systematically presents Karabakh’s complex historical path, the Victory achieved, and the large-scale reconstruction efforts undertaken following the restoration of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Karabakh Revival Fund’s “Donation Certificate” was presented to Ilgar Nuri, Deputy Group CEO for Corporate Functions and member of the Executive Committee of the Veyseloglu Group of Companies. The certificate recognized the donation of Graeme Wilson’s books — “Revival of Karabakh: The Story of Azerbaijan’s Renaissance,” “Azerbaijan Democratic Republic: A Dream That Never Died,” and “Ilham: Portrait of a President” — to the Presidential Library, made with the support of the Veyseloglu Group of Companies.
