Tokyo, December 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated on Saturday in the first high-level Central Asia–Japan Dialogue Summit, the newspaper Türkmenistan reported.
The summit brought together the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov; Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon; Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev; and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized the countries’ shared commitment to long-term and sustainable partnerships and stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between Central Asia and Japan, particularly in economic and investment areas.
He highlighted priority sectors for multilateral collaboration, including the green transition, hydrogen energy, climate action, and the development of transit and transport connectivity.
Participants exchanged proposals to strengthen political dialogue, business ties, and humanitarian cooperation, aiming to elevate six-party engagement to a new level.
Established in 2004, the Central Asia–Japan Dialogue serves as a key platform for Japan’s engagement with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, promoting sustained regional collaboration and strategic partnerships.
