Saint Petersburg, December 23, 2025 – The Europe Today: On December 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an informal meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) heads of state at the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg.
The summit brought together President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
During the meeting, the leaders summarized the primary outcomes of joint work over the past year and outlined priority tasks for 2026. They exchanged views on key regional and international issues and emphasized the importance of creating favorable conditions to increase mutual trade, deepen cooperation in transport, stimulate investment growth, and support joint projects.
The participants also highlighted the need to strengthen collaboration in energy, digitalization, science, education, culture, and the arts, while fostering long-term partnerships between regions within the CIS.
The summit underscored the significance of preserving and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges among member countries, with particular attention to developing the creative, innovative, and intellectual potential of young people across the Commonwealth.
