Malaysian High Commissioner Offers Condolences on Passing of Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia

Islamabad, January 5, 2026 – The Europe Today: His Excellency Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, on Monday visited the High Commission of Bangladesh in Islamabad to convey condolences on behalf of the Government of Malaysia following the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia, former Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

During the visit, the Malaysian High Commissioner extended his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family of Begum Khaleda Zia, as well as to the Government and people of Bangladesh, expressing solidarity at a time of profound national loss.

He paid tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia’s enduring legacy, noting her significant role in shaping Bangladesh’s political landscape and her lifelong dedication to public service. He emphasized that her contributions to her country would continue to be remembered and serve as an inspiration for future generations.

Malaysia, he affirmed, stands in unity with Bangladesh in honoring the life and service of the former prime minister, while offering prayers for eternal peace for her soul and strength for the people of Bangladesh during this difficult period.
