Turkmenistan, Pakistan Discuss Advancing Bilateral Cooperation in 2026

Ashgabat, January 8, 2026 – The Europe Today: A meeting was held on January 7, 2026, between Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan, Faryal Leghari.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the further implementation of joint measures aimed at promoting and strengthening bilateral relations in the new year.

Particular emphasis was placed on preparations for the sixth meeting of the Joint Turkmen–Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the holding of political consultations at the level of the foreign ministers of the two countries, and the organization of the Turkmen–Pakistani Business Forum.

The discussions also covered arrangements for high-level state visits planned for the current year, underscoring the importance both sides attach to enhancing political dialogue and cooperation.

In addition, the sides reviewed a list of bilateral documents scheduled to be signed in 2026, reflecting their shared commitment to expanding the legal and institutional framework of Turkmenistan–Pakistan relations.
