Kuala Lumpur, January 14, 2026 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday extended his prayers and well-wishes to the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, ahead of the monarch’s upcoming medical treatment.
In a post on Facebook, Anwar stated that he had been informed about the Sultan’s scheduled procedure and expressed his hopes for the ruler’s continued health.
“I pray that His Majesty is granted lasting good health and remains under the protection and grace of Allah SWT. May His Majesty continue to rule the Nation of Brunei Darussalam with wisdom and sound judgment,” the prime minister said.
According to a statement issued by the Brunei Prime Minister’s Office on Monday, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is set to undergo right knee replacement surgery on January 18.
