Prague, January 19, 2026 – The Europe Today: A woman was killed and at least four other people, including a police officer, were wounded in a shooting at a town hall in a Czech village on Monday, police said. The attacker was also killed in the incident, according to media reports.
Police said on social media platform X that officers had secured the municipal building in the town of Chribska, located about 110 kilometers (68 miles) north of Prague. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly after the shooting was reported.
Authorities have not released details about the identity of the attacker or the victims, nor have they provided information on a possible motive for the attack. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Czech officials said there was no immediate indication of a broader threat to the public.
