Doha, January 26, 2026 – The Europe Today: Alan Kurmangaliyev of Kazakhstan secured two medals at the international WTT Youth Star Contender tournament in Doha, Qatar, the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
In the singles event, Kurmangaliyev won five matches to reach the semifinals, where he was defeated by India’s Abhinandh Pradhivadhi, a silver medalist at the World Youth Team Championships. The result earned the Kazakhstani table tennis player a bronze medal.
Kurmangaliyev also achieved third place in the doubles event, partnering with Lithuania’s Ignas Sisanovas to claim another bronze medal for Kazakhstan.
The young athlete’s performance highlights Kazakhstan’s growing presence in international youth table tennis competitions.
