Islamabad, January 27, 2026 – The Europe Today: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has officially launched its inaugural Bug Bounty Challenge 2026, a landmark initiative aimed at bolstering the cybersecurity of Pakistan’s digital identity ecosystem.
Organized in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (PakCERT), the challenge is designed to foster advanced cybersecurity assessment, responsible vulnerability identification, and ethical hacking practices across the country.
The competition is team-based and seeks to nurture emerging talent, reinforce ethical security practices, and enhance public confidence in the nation’s digital identity systems. Participants include students from selected universities as well as cybersecurity professionals associated with NADRA’s partner institutions.
Regional rounds of the Bug Bounty Challenge are set to begin on 27 January 2026 at major universities, including Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), Swabi; National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad; University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore; NED University, Karachi; and BUITEMS, Quetta.
The grand concluding ceremony will take place at NADRA Headquarters in Islamabad on a date to be announced, marking the culmination of this nationwide effort to promote ethical cybersecurity and safeguard Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.
