Perth, January 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: Emergency warnings have been issued for two bushfires burning in and around the Australian city of Perth, with one active blaze posing a threat to properties in the city’s northern outskirts, according to media reports citing Australian sources.
An emergency warning remains in effect for a bushfire burning near Bullsbrook, approximately 43 kilometers north of Perth. The fire reportedly started near the Tonkin Highway and Neaves Road interchange and is advancing through the area under challenging conditions.
The blaze is burning close to an alpaca farm and a strawberry farm located a few kilometers west of the Bullsbrook townsite. Unconfirmed reports suggest that animals may have been affected and that at least one shed has been destroyed.
News helicopter footage showed thick plumes of white smoke rising from a field just meters from the fruit farm on Davidson Street, while smoke continued to billow from nearby swampy terrain as firefighters worked to contain the fire.
Aerial water bombers have been deployed to assist firefighting efforts, with multiple ground crews also operating in the area. Authorities said the fire is currently spreading in a westerly direction.
Meanwhile, an earlier emergency warning for a separate bushfire further south near Landsdale has been downgraded. In that area, large plumes of black smoke were observed rising from the Gnangara pine plantation. Residents in suburban areas east of the Landsdale fire were advised to remain vigilant due to the risk of ember attacks.
Fire conditions have been exacerbated by high temperatures, with Perth recording a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius on the day.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have urged residents in affected areas to follow official safety advice as firefighting operations remain ongoing.
