Denmark, Switzerland, Moldova and Netherlands Step Up Energy Support for Ukraine

Ukraine

Kyiv, February 12, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ukraine’s capital has received a new shipment of humanitarian assistance from Denmark as international partners continue to bolster the country’s energy resilience amid ongoing challenges.

According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the city on Wednesday, 11 February, received three generators from Copenhagen with capacities of 88 kW, 110 kW, and 128 kW, along with a mobile boiler house capable of generating 1,455 kW.

“Amid the energy crisis, these power sources will help the city strengthen the resilience of critical infrastructure facilities, social institutions, and residential buildings,” Klitschko stated, highlighting the significance of the support for maintaining essential services.

The assistance from Denmark comes as part of a broader international effort to reinforce Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. On the same day, the Swiss government approved an energy aid package worth CHF 32 million (approximately €35 million), which includes additional generators and electric modules to address urgent needs.

Meanwhile, Moldova also extended support. Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced on 10 February that his country had dispatched humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including electricity generators and fire engines to assist emergency response services.

In addition, the Netherlands confirmed an extra contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, further strengthening coordinated European assistance aimed at stabilizing Ukraine’s energy sector.

The latest pledges underscore continued international solidarity with Ukraine, as partner nations intensify efforts to mitigate the impact of energy shortages and safeguard critical infrastructure during a period of heightened demand and operational strain.
