Baku, February 19, 2026 – The Europe Today: Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov held a meeting with Ukraine’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in humanitarian demining.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on prospects for collaboration in mine action, which remains a priority area for both Azerbaijan and Ukraine given the humanitarian and reconstruction challenges faced by the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ANAMA and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The sides emphasized the importance of enhancing practical cooperation, sharing expertise, and strengthening institutional ties in the field of mine clearance and emergency response.
The discussions underscored the mutual commitment to deepening partnership in humanitarian demining efforts, contributing to regional safety, post-conflict recovery, and sustainable development.
