Islamabad, February 24, 2026 – The Europe Today: According to Global News Pakistan, the 6th International Students Convention & Expo (ISCE) 2026 will take place from May 4–6, 2026, in the federal capital, marking the first time the mega academic gathering will be hosted in Islamabad after five successful editions in Lahore, Karachi, Northern Sindh, and Faisalabad.
The three-day international event is expected to attract thousands of students, universities, academicians, researchers, industry leaders, and Vice Chancellors from across Pakistan and abroad. Organisers describe the Convention as a dynamic platform for academic engagement, innovation, professional networking, and youth empowerment.
HEC Chairman Launches Convention
In a major development, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairperson of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), accepted patronage of the initiative as Patron-in-Chief. He formally launched the Convention during a prestigious cake-cutting ceremony held at the Islamabad Club, attended by ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, Vice Chancellors, industrialists, and leading academic figures.
Participation from 150+ Universities
The Convention & Expo is expected to host participation from over 150 universities and institutions, with an anticipated footfall exceeding 15,000 students.
The comprehensive programme includes:
- Student competitions
- Innovation-driven project exhibitions
- Industrial stalls
- Career guidance sessions
- Academic and research presentations
- Cultural activities
- Multiple sports competitions
A key highlight will be the Lyallpur Industrial Pavilion, alongside dedicated Education, Tourism, and Diplomatic Pavilions, aimed at strengthening academia-industry collaboration and international partnerships.
Academic & Sporting Engagements
Student competitions and specialised workshops will be held at Quaid-i-Azam University, while other institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will organise parallel seminars, panel discussions, and thematic academic sessions under the Convention framework.
In addition, international sporting activities will broaden the event’s global reach. The International Handball Referees Training and Certification Course will run from May 5–15, 2026, followed by the International Handball Tournament from May 17–22, 2026, at Government College University Faisalabad, featuring participation from national and international teams.
A Platform for Youth Empowerment
The 6th ISCE 2026 aims to nurture youth talent, foster creativity and leadership, strengthen academic-industrial collaboration, promote international sporting relations, and enhance global cooperation.
