PBF International College Islamabad Marks International Women’s Day with Inspiring Speeches and Cultural Performances

Islamabad, March 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: PBF International College, H-9 Islamabad, celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm, highlighting the achievements, rights, and empowerment of women through speeches, cultural presentations, and student performances.

The event’s Chief Guest was Her Excellency Madam Ni’mah Mushoffa, wife of Excellency Mr. Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma Coordinator for Information, Social, and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of Indonesia. In her keynote address, Madam Mushoffa spoke about the importance of women’s empowerment, she stated that Women empowerment in Indonesia has witnessed a blend of progressive Islamic feminism and structural support, aiming to boost economic, social, and political roles within the framework of Islamic values embedded in our cultures.

She further explained that in the field of Economic Empowerment, studies show that Islamic marketing and services, combined with technological innovation, are driving the economic empowerment of women-led Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Islamic financial instruments and Waqf (endowments) are increasingly used to support women’s livelihoods in various projects.

H.E. Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, was also present at the ceremony, reflecting the Indonesian mission’s support for initiatives promoting women’s empowerment and cross-cultural dialogue.

Among the special guests were Ms. Saira Khalid Rajput, Advocate of the Supreme Court and Secretary Finance of the Supreme Court Bar Association, and Ms. Fatima Tuz Zehra, President of The Gulf Observer Research Forum and Editor-in-Chief of The Gulf Observer.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Saira Khalid Rajput highlighted the legal rights and remedies available to women in Pakistan, stressing the need for awareness and stronger implementation of laws to ensure justice and equality for women in society.

Meanwhile, Ms. Fatima Tuz Zehra emphasized the critical role of media and research in advancing women’s empowerment. She said that “As someone working in media and research, I strongly believe that knowledge, information, and responsible journalism are powerful tools for empowering women,” she said.

Students of the college also presented tableau performances portraying the success stories and achievements of Pakistani women in various fields, receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.

In her concluding remarks, Principal Madam Sara Mohsin Butt thanked the chief guest and other distinguished participants. She highlighted the remarkable contributions of Pakistani women in national development and encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with confidence and determination.

Adding an international perspective to the celebration, a special recorded message from Her Excellency Madam Tarana Farhadova, wife of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, was played during the event. In her message, Madam Farhadova emphasized that Azerbaijan ensures equal rights for men and women across all sectors, regardless of gender, and commended the role of PBF International College in promoting awareness and dialogue on women’s empowerment.

The event concluded with a group photo session featuring the chief guest, distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, marking a memorable celebration dedicated to honoring women’s achievements and inspiring future generations.
