Baku, March 12, 2026 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev has stated that Azerbaijan ranks first in the world in terms of the geographical coverage of countries receiving natural gas through pipelines.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Global Baku Forum, President Aliyev said that Azerbaijan has become a key player in global energy markets as a major exporter of natural gas via pipeline networks.
He noted that the country’s export volumes continue to grow and are expected to increase further in the coming years, highlighting Azerbaijan’s growing role in ensuring energy security for numerous countries.
The president also emphasized that, as a reliable supplier of oil and gas to international markets, Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to global energy stability and support the energy needs of partner countries.
