Jakarta, March 24, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Indonesian Navy’s newly acquired warship, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, has arrived in Indonesian waters after departing from Italy, marking a significant milestone in the country’s naval modernization efforts.

Rear Admiral Tunggul, Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service, confirmed on Monday that the vessel is currently docked in Lampung for re-equipment and final preparations.

“That’s right. The KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 has arrived in Indonesia. It is currently docked in Lampung for re-equipment,” Tunggul stated in Jakarta.

He further announced that the warship is scheduled to depart for Jakarta on March 26, where it will participate in an official welcoming and induction ceremony.

The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) formally received the vessel following its completion by renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. The handover ceremony took place on December 22, 2025, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Muggiano, Italy, and was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Muhammad Ali.

KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 shares the same specifications as KRI Brawijaya-320, another vessel built by Fincantieri, which is currently serving under Fleet Command II (Koarmada II).

As the largest and most advanced warship in Indonesia’s naval fleet, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and advanced weapons systems, significantly enhancing the Navy’s operational capabilities and maneuverability.

The arrival of the vessel underscores Indonesia’s continued commitment to strengthening its maritime defence capabilities and safeguarding its territorial waters.
