Shamakhi, March 24, 2026 – The Europe Today: : President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has said that extensive development is underway in the Shamakhi district, transforming it into one of the country’s प्रमुख tourism centers.
The President made these remarks while meeting with employees of the “Shirvan Agro” livestock complex during the inauguration ceremony of the enterprise in Shamakhi.
“Extensive development is currently underway in the Shamakhi district. Shamakhi has become one of the tourism centers of our country,” President Aliyev stated.
He noted that significant investments in infrastructure and hospitality have contributed to the district’s rapid progress, with the establishment of modern recreation areas, hotels, catering facilities, as well as cultural and educational institutions.
Highlighting improvements in connectivity, the President emphasized the importance of the modern Shamakhi–Baku highway, which facilitates efficient transport links between the capital and the western and northwestern regions of Azerbaijan.
“The Shamakhi–Baku highway is also highly modern, providing strong connectivity with both Baku and the western and northwestern regions of the country,” he added.
President Aliyev’s remarks underscore the government’s continued focus on regional development, tourism promotion, and infrastructure enhancement as key drivers of Azerbaijan’s economic growth.
