Washington, March 27, 2026 – The Europe Today/GNP: Chairman of the Pakistan Caucus in the US Congress, Tom Suozzi, has stated that Pakistan is bearing a significant burden in the global fight against terrorism, urging the international community to acknowledge its sacrifices and contributions.
Addressing a joint press conference alongside Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Shaikh, Suozzi expressed a strong desire to further strengthen Pakistan–US relations. He emphasized the need for increased American investment in Pakistan to support its economic development and long-term stability.
The US lawmaker also acknowledged Pakistan’s critical diplomatic role in the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, noting that Islamabad’s friendly relations with both sides position it as an effective mediator in efforts to de-escalate the conflict.
In his remarks, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Shaikh reiterated that Pakistan remains a frontline state in the global war on terror and continues to bear the brunt of its consequences. He highlighted that the Pakistani people have paid a heavy price due to terrorism, particularly from threats emanating from Afghanistan.
Both leaders underscored the importance of sustained cooperation between Pakistan and the United States to address shared security challenges and promote regional peace and stability.
