Hanoi, March 27, 2026 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has called on Vietnamese youth to take the lead in advancing science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation to deliver breakthrough projects and drive national development.
He made these remarks on Thursday during a meeting with outstanding young individuals and officials of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union, held to mark the union’s 95th anniversary.
The prime minister emphasized that young people play a pivotal role in shaping the country’s future, urging them to harness creativity, embrace emerging technologies, and contribute to improving labour productivity and national competitiveness.
At the event, participants expressed confidence in government policies designed to empower youth to take ownership in science and innovation, while addressing key challenges in the digital era. Nguyễn Chí Đông, one of Việt Nam’s Outstanding Young Faces of 2025 from Viettel, highlighted the importance of high-quality human resources, particularly in fields such as big data and artificial intelligence.
He called for enhanced policies to identify and nurture talent from an early stage, alongside measures to retain skilled youth within the country, enabling them to contribute effectively to national goals and future leadership.
Meanwhile, Bùi Quang Huy, First Secretary of the Youth Union and a member of the Party Central Committee, described 2026 as a milestone year in the organization’s 95-year history. He said the anniversary provides an opportunity for young people to reaffirm their commitment to creativity, volunteerism, and national service.
He noted that recipients of Việt Nam’s Outstanding Young Faces award exemplify the intellect, courage, and aspirations of the nation’s youth, with their achievements earning international recognition and inspiring millions across the country.
The ceremony also honoured 100 Youth Union officials with the 2026 Lý Tự Trọng Awards, recognizing their contributions across diverse fields, including grassroots innovation, education, community service, and digital literacy.
Reaffirming the Party and State’s strong commitment to youth development, Prime Minister Chính described young people as a pioneering and creative force at the forefront of national construction and defence. He commended the Youth Union for effectively implementing policies aimed at talent cultivation and youth empowerment.
Highlighting the challenges of an increasingly complex global environment, the prime minister urged young people to maintain strong political resolve, stay committed to national ideals, and continuously innovate in both thought and action.
He stressed the importance of strategic thinking, bold decision-making, professional excellence, and deeper international integration, underscoring that “resources stem from thinking, motivation stems from innovation, and strength stems from the people.”
