Turkmenistan

Minsk, March 29, 2026 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan and Belarus have agreed on a quota for exchanging permits for international road freight transport for the year 2027, marking a step forward in strengthening bilateral transport cooperation.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the Turkmen-Belarus Joint Committee on International Road Transport held in Minsk, according to the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications.

As part of the agreement, transport operators from both countries will be permitted to use digital tachograph printouts within each other’s territories. This provision applies to vehicles equipped with control devices that comply with the European Agreement concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles (AETR) standards.

During the meeting, officials from both sides also reviewed key aspects of bilateral cooperation in the field of international road freight transport, reaffirming their commitment to facilitating smoother logistics operations and enhancing connectivity between the two countries.

The agreement is expected to streamline cross-border transport procedures and support the expansion of trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and Belarus.
