Thousands Gather at Guba Memorial to Mark 108th Anniversary of Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis

Guba, March 31, 2026 – The Europe Today: Large numbers of local residents, government officials, members of parliament, representatives of public and political organizations, employees of various companies, as well as foreign tourists, have gathered at the Guba Genocide Memorial Complex to commemorate the 108th anniversary of March 31 – the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.

Visitors paid tribute to the victims while attending a range of commemorative activities held at the complex. Special photo and book exhibitions have also been organized to highlight historical accounts and preserve the memory of the tragic events.

Participants are being briefed on the atrocities committed against Azerbaijanis in four languages—Azerbaijani, English, Russian, and Arabic—ensuring that both local and international visitors gain a comprehensive understanding of the historical context.

Since its inauguration in 2013, the memorial complex has received more than 1.25 million visitors, including approximately 200,000 foreign guests, reflecting its growing significance as a site of remembrance and historical awareness.

March 31, observed annually as the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis, marks the 108th anniversary of the atrocities committed by radical Armenian groups against the Azerbaijani people, serving as a solemn occasion to honor the victims and reaffirm the importance of preserving historical memory.
