Azerbaijan and Türkiye Reaffirm Strategic Partnership, Expand Economic Cooperation

Baku, April 3, 2026 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with Vice President of Türkiye Cevdet Yılmaz, who is currently on an official visit to the country, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

During the meeting, both sides hailed the continued successful development of fraternal and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, emphasizing that the consistent and strategic policies pursued by the leadership of both nations remain instrumental in deepening this partnership.

The officials welcomed the outcomes of the 12th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Baku last December, and explored opportunities to further enhance collaboration in areas including economy, investment, energy, and transport. Progress on a range of joint projects was also reviewed.

The discussions also covered cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States, with both sides underscoring the importance of solidarity and mutual support among member states.

In this context, the significance of the recent meeting of the Heads of Government and Vice Presidents of the Organization’s member countries, hosted in Baku, was particularly highlighted as a key platform for advancing regional coordination and shared priorities.
