Ho Chi Minh City to Mark Reunification Day with Cultural, Sports Celebrations

HCM City, April 6, 2026 – The Europe Today:  Ho Chi Minh City is set to launch a special programme titled Non Sông Thống Nhất (National Unification) to commemorate the 51st anniversary of Reunification Day on April 30 and the 140th anniversary of International Labour Day.

The programme will feature a series of photography exhibitions showcasing the resistance war that led to national liberation in 1975, as well as highlighting the beauty, potential, and socio-economic and cultural development of Việt Nam and the city.

The exhibitions will take place at key locations including Đồng Khởi Street and Chi Lăng Park in Sài Gòn Ward, Ba Cu Street in Vũng Tàu Ward, and the Bình Dương Administrative Centre in Bình Dương Ward.

City leaders will attend a memorial ceremony at the war martyr commemorative site and pay tribute by laying wreaths and offering incense at the monuments of Hồ Chí Minh and Tôn Đức Thắng.

A wide range of cultural and sports activities will be organised from April 29 to May 3. The city Arts Centre will host outdoor music and dance performances featuring patriotic themes, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on April 29 at Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street, New City Park in Bình Dương Ward, and Tam Thắng Square in Vũng Tàu.

Fireworks displays are scheduled at multiple venues across the city from 9:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on April 30.

In addition, the city will organise the 50th Traditional April 30 Marathon – HCM City Open, further enhancing the celebratory spirit of the commemorative events.
