National March for Palestine Announced in Rabat

Palestine

Rabat, April 7, 2026 – The Europe Today: The National Working Group for Palestine has announced a nationwide march in solidarity with the Palestinian people, scheduled to take place in Rabat on Sunday, April 19.

According to a statement shared on social media, the march will commence from Bab El Had and proceed along Mohammed V Avenue, concluding in front of the city’s main train station. Organizers said the demonstration aims to denounce the ongoing aggression against Palestinians and to protest restrictions on worship at key religious sites.

The group strongly criticized measures affecting access to Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, describing them as violations of religious freedom and the sanctity of holy places. It also raised concerns over the deteriorating conditions of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli detention facilities.

In its statement, the organization condemned recent Israeli legislative moves, including proposals related to the death penalty for Palestinians, calling them a dangerous escalation that undermines fundamental human rights and contradicts international legal frameworks, including the Geneva Conventions.

The group urged political parties, trade unions, and civil society organizations across Morocco to actively participate in the march, framing it as a reaffirmation of the country’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause.

Since October 2023, Morocco has witnessed regular demonstrations in cities such as Rabat and Tangier, reflecting widespread public opposition to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Various reports indicate that Morocco ranks among the leading countries in terms of public mobilization against the violence.

The Moroccan government has consistently reiterated its support for a peaceful resolution based on dialogue and a two-state solution, advocating for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
