Pakistan Facilitates Ceasefire, PM Shehbaz Sharif Praises Leadership and Urges Prayers for Successful Talks

Islamabad, April 11, 2026 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has commended Pakistan’s leadership for its decisive and balanced diplomatic efforts in securing a temporary ceasefire between the concerned parties, while calling for national prayers for the success of upcoming negotiations in Islamabad.

In his address to the nation, the Prime Minister stated that at a critical juncture, Pakistan’s leadership acted with caution and confidence to not only persuade both sides toward a temporary ceasefire but also extend a sincere invitation for dialogue in Islamabad.

He paid tribute to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his team for their tireless efforts and dedication. The Prime Minister also extended special appreciation to Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and his team, acknowledging their historic role in defusing tensions and facilitating dialogue through relentless diplomatic engagement.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that while a temporary ceasefire has been achieved, the next and more challenging phase is to secure a lasting peace through negotiations and resolution of outstanding issues.

He urged the nation to pray for the success of the talks, expressing hope that divine blessings would guide the process toward a positive outcome. The Prime Minister added that the leadership of both countries is expected to be present in Islamabad, where Pakistan will continue to play its role with sincerity and full commitment to ensure successful negotiations.
