President Rahmon Meets CSTO Secretary General to Strengthen Regional Security Cooperation

Dushanbe, April 13, 2026 — The Europe Today: Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Leader of the Nation, received Taalatbek Masadikov, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, who arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit.

At the outset of the meeting, President Rahmon congratulated Masadikov on his appointment as Secretary General of the CSTO, expressing confidence in his leadership.

During the talks, both sides discussed key issues related to cooperation within the CSTO framework. They exchanged views on the current security situation across the Organization’s area of responsibility and its surrounding regions, while also reviewing pressing regional and international developments.

Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing coordination among member states to ensure timely and effective responses to emerging security threats and challenges.

In this context, President Rahmon underscored the importance of the comprehensive implementation of decisions adopted by the CSTO Collective Security Council, reaffirming Tajikistan’s commitment to strengthening collective security mechanisms within the Organization.
