Minsk to Host Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on Agricultural Issues

Minsk, October 12, 2024 – The Europe Today: A session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will be held in Minsk on October 18, 2024, to address key agricultural issues, according to the press service of the assembly.

During the session, participants will discuss the development of two major Union State programs: the “Development of Intelligent Technologies and Robotic Technical Means for the Horticulture Industry” (known as “Union State Horticulture”) and the “Development of Digital Technologies and a Set of Automated Machines and Equipment for Dairy Farming” (referred to as “Union State Intelligent Farm”). These initiatives aim to advance technological innovation in the horticulture and dairy farming sectors.

Additionally, the creation of a breeding and genetic center focused on egg breeds of hens will be on the agenda, highlighting the Union State’s commitment to agricultural development.

The session will bring together representatives from the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The collaborative effort is expected to drive forward key advancements in agricultural technology and strengthen cooperation between Belarus and Russia in this vital sector.
