Meeting on “School, Science, and Literature” Held in Siyazan to Foster Youth Interest in Education and Literature

Siyazan, February 23, 2025 – The Europe Today: A meeting on the theme “School, Science, and Literature” was held in Siyazan with the aim of increasing young generations’ interest in literature, science, and education, as well as promoting a culture of reading. The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the Siyazan District Executive Authority, and the Guba-Khachmaz Regional Education Department, News Hub Consultants reports.

Prior to the event, participants had the opportunity to explore an exhibition of artworks arranged by the Azerbaijan Institute of Literature, showcasing literary and scientific contributions.

The meeting was attended by distinguished figures, including President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbayli, chairman of the Committee on Science and Education at the Azerbaijani Parliament, Professor Anar Iskandarov, Doctor of Philology and Member of Parliament Elnara Akimova, renowned children’s literature writer Zahid Khalil, head of the Siyazan District Executive Authority Novruz Novruzov, director of the Guba-Khachmaz Regional Education Department Joshgun Aliyev, and other eminent scholars and cultural representatives.

Discussions at the event revolved around the progress and achievements in the field of literary studies and literature in Azerbaijan. The speakers highlighted the crucial role of intellectuals in fostering scientific and artistic creativity and emphasized the necessity of integrating science and education in a rapidly globalizing world. They underscored the importance of scientific popularization and the pressing need for significant reforms to enhance the scientific personnel potential and increase youth engagement in research and academic pursuits.

The gathering also featured participation from school directors, teachers, cultural figures, writers, and students. As part of the event, schoolchildren performed dramatized scenes inspired by the works of children’s literature writers, adding an interactive dimension to the program.

In a gesture to support educational development, scholars donated books to the local library. Additionally, the Siyazan District Executive Authority honored participants with certificates of recognition for their contributions.

The event successfully reinforced the significance of literature, science, and education in shaping the intellectual landscape of future generations, promoting a culture of reading and scholarly engagement among young minds.
