Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Meets Brazilian Counterpart Ahead of 17th BRCIS Summit

Rio De Janeiro, July 06, 2025 – The Europe Today: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held a bilateral meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira on the sidelines of the 17th BRCIS Summit, set to take place in Rio de Janeiro on July 6–7, 2025, according to media reports.

Upon his arrival, Murat Nurtleu was warmly received by Mauro Vieira, who extended a cordial welcome on behalf of the Brazilian government. The Kazakh diplomat expressed his sincere gratitude for the warm reception and commended Brazil’s high-level organization of events during its BRICS presidency. He also conveyed Kazakhstan’s best wishes for the successful preparation and hosting of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), scheduled to be held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10–21, 2025.

During the talks, the two ministers engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views on expanding trade and economic ties, strengthening cooperation within international organizations, and addressing regional and global issues of mutual concern. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting each other’s initiatives and candidacies on the international stage.

Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing political dialogue, increasing reciprocal high-level visits, and fostering interparliamentary relations. They also discussed deepening bilateral economic engagement, particularly through the Kazakhstan-Brazil Business Council.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira extended a formal invitation to Murat Nurtleu to visit Brasília, underscoring the desire to maintain momentum in bilateral relations. The two ministers welcomed the steady progress in Kazakh-Brazilian cooperation and reiterated their commitment to sustaining regular and constructive dialogue.

The 17th BRCIS Summit is expected to bring together representatives from over 30 countries and international organizations, serving as a platform for broad multilateral engagement.
