Moscow, August 17, 2026 — The Europe Today: The Representative Office of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board in the Russian Federation has held a destination presentation for representatives of the Russian travel industry as part of a joint promotional initiative with leading Russian tour operator FUN&SUN.
The business breakfast was organised to strengthen cooperation with Russia’s travel sector and further promote Azerbaijan as an attractive tourism destination in the Russian market.
Participants discussed Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, its diverse range of travel experiences and opportunities for expanding cooperation with Russian travel agencies.
Around 50 leading travel agencies cooperating with FUN&SUN attended the event.
As part of the business programme, representatives of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board in Russia, together with partners Absheron Hotel Group and Sea Breeze, presented the latest tourism products and highlighted opportunities for developing further cooperation with Russian travel companies.
The Representative Office of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board in Russia continues to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the Russian travel industry and implement promotional initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of Azerbaijan and reinforcing its position as a preferred international tourism destination.
Russia remains one of Azerbaijan’s key tourism markets. In 2025, Azerbaijan welcomed more than 600,000 visitors from the Russian Federation.
In July 2026 alone, more than 73,000 Russian visitors travelled to Azerbaijan, surpassing the number recorded during the same month of 2025.
Air connectivity between the two countries is currently provided by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), UTair, Aeroflot, Rossiya Airlines, Ural Airlines, S7 Airlines and IrAero.
The existing air network connects four airports in Azerbaijan with more than 10 airports across the Russian Federation, supporting tourism, business and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
