Bishkek, September 1, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on August 31.
The World Nomad Games aim to promote the values of friendship, unity and mutual respect that have brought different peoples together for centuries.
The international event provides a platform for preserving, promoting and passing on to future generations the cultural heritage, ancient traditions and national values of nomadic civilizations.
Representatives from various countries are participating in the Games, which feature competitions in traditional sports historically associated with nomadic peoples, including equestrian events, wrestling and archery.
The Games will continue until September 6, with participating countries also showcasing their cultural heritage, national traditions and customs.
The event highlights the rich cultural diversity of nomadic civilizations while promoting international friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation among participating nations.
