Baku, August 29, 2025 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with Magdalena Grono, the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
Talks centered on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan–EU cooperation, as well as the ongoing reconciliation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The two sides also exchanged views on wider regional and international issues.
Minister Bayramov and Grono reviewed cooperation in a broad range of fields, including economic and trade relations, transport, energy security, green energy, and humanitarian initiatives. Both parties praised the high-level contacts maintained between Azerbaijan and the EU, underscoring the importance of continuous dialogue.
Grono congratulated Azerbaijan on the progress achieved in its rapprochement with Armenia at the recent Washington summit, reaffirming the EU’s readiness to support the peace process in multiple formats.
For his part, Bayramov outlined the historic agreements reached at the summit, stressing the significance of these developments for advancing reconciliation and long-term peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The meeting also addressed other bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest, reflecting the shared commitment of Azerbaijan and the EU to strengthen cooperation and contribute to stability in the South Caucasus.
