Prague, September 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: The Czech Republic stands firmly with Poland and is prepared to help defend Europe’s borders against Russian provocations, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Wednesday following a cabinet meeting that addressed the Russian drone attack on Ukraine, which also struck Polish territory.
Fiala stressed that Czechia’s readiness to respond extends to any measures agreed within NATO, warning that the Putin regime is “systematically testing how far it can go” and poses a threat to all of Europe.
Political leaders across the Czech spectrum condemned the incident, voiced solidarity with Poland, and called for a decisive NATO response. Some urged the imposition of tougher sanctions on Russia as well as stronger defenses along the Alliance’s eastern flank.
“No one is safe. And no one can say that this war does not concern us,” President Petr Pavel said, underlining the urgency of a united response to Russian aggression.
