Astana, September 16, 2025 — The Europe Today: On the eve of the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the XXIII Session of the Congress Secretariat was held at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. The session reviewed the agenda of the upcoming Congress and addressed the election of Ambassadors of Goodwill.
Chairman of the Senate and Head of the Congress Secretariat, Mr. Maulen Ashimbayev, highlighted that for more than two decades, the Congress has played a pivotal role in strengthening global interfaith dialogue while promoting peace and mutual respect. He noted that the VIII Congress will focus on the theme “Dialogue of Religions: Synergy for the Future”, underscoring not only cooperation but also the imperative to enhance joint efforts.
During the session, the election of Goodwill Ambassadors was conducted, and the Congress’ final document, the “Astana Peace Declaration – 2025”, was discussed in detail.
