President Tokayev Appoints Magzhan Ilyassov as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to the United States

Astana, October 20, 2025 — The Europe Today: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Monday signed a decree appointing Magzhan Ilyassov as the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States, Akorda reported.

According to the presidential decree, Ilyassov has been relieved of his previous duties as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as his concurrent responsibilities as ambassador to Iceland and Ireland.

Magzhan Ilyassov is a seasoned diplomat who has previously held various senior positions within Kazakhstan’s foreign service, contributing to the strengthening of the country’s international partnerships and diplomatic engagement. His appointment underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to advancing bilateral relations with the United States.
