Turkmenistan and Italy Sign Comprehensive Package of Bilateral Cooperation Documents

RomeOctober 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official visit to the Italian Republic, President Serdar Berdimuhamedow participated in the Turkmen–Italian Business Forum, which brought together senior officials, business leaders, and representatives from both countries to explore opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

Following the forum, a signing ceremony was held, during which a number of documents aimed at strengthening collaboration between Turkmenistan and Italy were concluded. The signed agreements included:

  • A confidentiality agreement between the State Cybersecurity Service under Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Communications and Leonardo S.p.A.;
  • A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Communications and Leonardo S.p.A.;
  • An MoU on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and Marzoli Machines Textile S.M.L.;
  • An MoU on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and Itema S.p.A.;
  • An MoU on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and MCS Dyeing & Finishing Machinery;
  • An MoU on textile industry cooperation between the Ministry of Textile Industry and Savio Macchine Tessili S.p.A.; and
  • An MoU between the Ministry of Energy and Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A.

The forum also featured an exhibition showcasing products manufactured in Turkmenistan, underscoring the country’s growing industrial and export potential.

The successful conclusion of the Turkmen–Italian Business Forum reaffirmed the shared commitment of both sides to deepening their mutually beneficial cooperation. The event highlighted not only the progress achieved thus far but also the readiness of Turkmenistan and Italy to further expand the scope of their economic and technological partnership in key sectors, including energy, communications, and the textile industry.
