Indonesian Ambassador’s Security Measures Commended Ahead of Polling Day in Germany

Berlin, January 25, 2024, The Europe Today: The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) commended the security policy and strategy implemented by the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany, Arief Havas Oegroseno, in preparation for the upcoming polling day on February 10.

A delegation from Kompolnas, led by Albertus Wahyurudhanto and including Pudji Hartanto Iskandar, Yusuf Warsyim, Mohammad Dawam, and Musa Ikipson Tampubolon, visited Germany to observe the preparations for the polling day. The delegation met with Ambassador Arief Havas Oegroseno during their visit.

The commendation from Kompolnas focused on the positive aspects of engaging external security on the voting day, emphasizing the importance of respecting local cultural adaptation. The commission appreciated the efforts made to ensure a secure and smooth voting process for Indonesian citizens living in Germany.

In addition, Kompolnas suggested collaborative efforts between the National Police and the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) to anticipate and address any potential security disturbances on the polling day. This joint approach aims to enhance the overall security measures in place during the electoral process.

Ambassador Arief Havas Oegroseno, in his meeting with the Kompolnas delegation, highlighted that the German government has granted permission for Indonesia to conduct election-related activities in Berlin, Hamburg, and Frankfurt.

As the polling day approaches, the collaborative efforts between Indonesian diplomatic missions and relevant authorities underscore the commitment to ensuring a secure and successful electoral process for overseas Indonesian communities.
