Microsoft Expands Access to AI-Powered Cybersecurity Tool, Introduces Pay-As-You-Go Model

San Francisco, March 14, 2024, The Europe Today: Microsoft announced on Wednesday its plans to broaden the availability of its artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity tool for professionals, starting from April 1st. Alongside this expansion, the company will introduce a ‘pay-as-you-go’ strategy for the assistant, aiming to enhance accessibility and flexibility for users.

Originally soft-launched last year, ‘Security Copilot’ equips analysts with a user-friendly interface, allowing them to run queries through a simple prompt box. The tool assists with various cybersecurity tasks, including incident summarization, vulnerability analysis, and information sharing among team members on a virtual pinboard.

Currently, approximately 300 customers are utilizing the capabilities of ‘Security Copilot,’ as revealed by a Microsoft official during an event in San Francisco.

In a strategic shift, Microsoft has opted to adopt a pay-as-you-go model for the tool, departing from the traditional subscription-based approach. This move aims to reduce barriers to entry and accommodate users with varying operational needs. Vasu Jakkal, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing accessibility, stating, “We wanted to reduce the barriers of entry.”

Under the new pricing structure, customers will pay based on their usage of the product, providing a more flexible and cost-effective solution for cybersecurity professionals. By aligning pricing with usage, Microsoft seeks to empower organizations of all sizes to leverage the benefits of AI-driven cybersecurity tools without being constrained by fixed subscription fees.

The expansion of ‘Security Copilot’ and the introduction of the pay-as-you-go model underscore Microsoft’s dedication to innovation and customer-centricity in the realm of cybersecurity. As threats evolve and cybersecurity challenges become increasingly complex, Microsoft continues to leverage advanced technologies to equip professionals with the tools and insights necessary to safeguard digital assets effectively.
