Islamabad, March 16, 2024, The Europe Today: In a tragic yet valorous encounter, Pakistani security forces repelled a brazen terrorist assault on a post in the general area of Mir Ali, located in the North Waziristan District. According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack occurred in the early hours of 16th March 2024.
The initial attempt by the terrorists to infiltrate the security forces’ post was thwarted by the swift response of our brave troops. Undeterred, the terrorists resorted to a devastating tactic, ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the post, followed by multiple suicide bombings. The ensuing explosions caused the collapse of a portion of the building, leading to the tragic martyrdom of five valiant soldiers, hailed as the sons of the soil.
The fallen heroes, who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their homeland, were identified as Havildar Sabir (resident of District Khyber), Naik Khurshid (resident of District Lakki Marwat), Sepoy Nasir (resident of District Peshawar), Sepoy Raja (resident of District Kohat), and Sepoy Sajjad (resident of District Abbotabad).
In the face of adversity, Pakistani security forces, led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, launched a determined counterattack, eliminating all six terrorists in a display of unwavering resolve and gallantry.
However, the valorous efforts of our troops were not without immense sacrifice. During the intense exchange of fire, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali (39 years old, resident of Karachi) and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar (23 years old, resident of District Talagang) exemplified extraordinary courage and leadership, ultimately laying down their lives in the line of duty.
As the sanitization operation continues in the area to root out any remaining terrorist elements, the press release underscores the unwavering determination of Pakistani security forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country. The sacrifices of our brave soldiers serve as a poignant reminder of the resilience and fortitude of the nation in the face of adversity, further strengthening our resolve to ensure peace and security for all citizens of Pakistan.
