This significant occasion marks the adoption of the Lahore Resolution by the Muslim League party on March 23, 1940, which laid the foundation for the creation of an independent state for the Muslims of India, reported by The Gulf Observer.

The event commenced with a majestic flypast featuring fighter jets from the Pakistan Air Force and Navy, including the newly inducted J-10 C, indigenously built JF-17, F-16, and Mirage fighter jets, alongside AWACs, P-3C Orion, and ATR aircraft.

Following the parade, President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the prestigious Nishan-i-Pakistan award upon Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, at a special investiture ceremony held at the Presidency. The Nishan-e-Pakistan, the second grade of the Order of Pakistan, represents the highest civilian honor bestowed upon individuals who have rendered exceptional services to the national interest of Pakistan.

Expressing gratitude for Prince Khalid’s meritorious contributions, the ceremony highlighted his pivotal role in enhancing defense cooperation, strengthening bilateral ties, and fostering peace efforts in the region. The event was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, top military leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps, reaffirming the significance of Pakistan’s enduring partnerships on the global stage.

The military parade showcased the formidable strength and unity of Pakistan’s armed forces, with contingents from the army, navy, and air force, alongside elite units such as the Special Services Group, Frontier Corps, Rangers, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, and Gilgit Baltistan Scouts. Noteworthy participation from allied countries, including Azerbaijan and China, further underscored the international solidarity witnessed during the parade.

Mechanized columns featuring tanks, armored personnel carriers, rocket launchers, air defense systems, and a display of advanced weaponry highlighted Pakistan’s defense capabilities. Spectacular aerobatic maneuvers by formations of Sherdils, JF-17 Thunder, and F-16 fighter jets mesmerized the audience, while cultural floats depicting the rich heritage of Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and the four provinces added to the festivities.

In a message to the nation, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to economic reform and prosperity, addressing pressing challenges such as inflation, unemployment, and terrorism.
