SOCAR President Meets with Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan to Strengthen Energy Cooperation

Baku, June 01, 2024, The Europe Today: Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), met with Alim Bayel, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, to discuss the robust and expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, particularly in the energy sector, as reported by Kazakh media.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the successful collaboration between SOCAR and Kazakh companies, emphasizing the dynamic development of their relations. A key focus of the discussion was the current state of cooperation between SOCAR and KazMunayGas (KMG), including the transit of Kazakh oil through Azerbaijan and potential cooperative efforts in production projects.

SOCAR and KMG have a strategic partnership that spans various facets of the energy sector, including oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation. This partnership is further strengthened by joint ventures that involve the operation of pipelines and refineries, facilitating the efficient movement of resources between the two countries.
