China Women’s Football Team to Hold Training Camp in Dalian Under New Head Coach Ante Milicic

Beijing, June 26, 2024, The Europe Today: The China women’s football team will assemble for a two-week training camp starting at the end of June, marking their second camp since the appointment of Australian coach Ante Milicic in mid-May.

Milicic, who took over as head coach last month, expressed his intent to quickly familiarize himself with the Chinese players and integrate into the team dynamics. Speaking to Chinese media upon his appointment, Milicic emphasized that his short-term goal is to establish a strong rapport with the players.

The training camp, scheduled from June 30 to July 14, will take place in Dalian, Liaoning province. Milicic has called up several young talents, including 18-year-old Huo Yuexin and 20-year-old Wang Siqian, reflecting his strategy to infuse fresh energy into the squad.

Notably, veteran players Wang Shanshan, Zhang Rui, and Zhang Xin have been excluded from the team list unveiled by the Chinese Football Association on Tuesday. This decision underscores Milicic’s focus on building a team with a blend of youthful exuberance and potential.

This training camp is a critical step for the Chinese side as they prepare for upcoming competitions, aiming to build cohesion and enhance their performance under the new coaching regime.
