Rome, September 05, 2024, The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, arrived in Rome on September 4 for an official visit at the invitation of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, according to News Hub Consultants.
Upon his arrival at Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport, a guard of honor was assembled to welcome the Azerbaijani head of state. President Ilham Aliyev was accompanied by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. The President and First Lady were greeted by high-ranking Italian officials, marking the beginning of the official visit.
The working visit is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, particularly in areas of economic cooperation, energy partnerships, and cultural exchange. Both nations have maintained strong ties, with Italy being one of Azerbaijan’s key partners in Europe.
