Baku, September 12, 2024, The Europe Today: Major General Gaffar Gören, Turkiye’s newly appointed military attaché to Azerbaijan, was formally introduced to Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, according to a report by News Hub Consultants, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
During the meeting, Minister Hasanov extended a warm welcome to General Gören and offered congratulations on his new appointment. He underscored the profound impact of the strong personal relations between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkiye on military cooperation, highlighting that the bilateral relations are grounded in friendship, brotherhood, and a strategic alliance.
Colonel General Hasanov expressed his best wishes for General Gören’s success in enhancing military cooperation between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of the military attaché’s role in further strengthening the partnership.
In response, Major General Gören conveyed his appreciation for the cordial reception and expressed enthusiasm about his new role. He assured his commitment to advancing military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye.
The meeting also included Major General Soner Oruchoglu, the outgoing military attaché from Turkiye, and featured discussions on new avenues for collaboration in military, military-technical, military-educational, and other areas of mutual interest.
